The following came from a research based on personal experience, a personal archive collected from articles on national and international newspapers of that time period and information collected on the Intenet. The story is about the events that took place in Genoa, Italy in July 2001, during the meeting of the G8 and the demonstrations that took place against it. The film is not a documentary. It’s fiction writing on true events. These are only instructions for the making of this film. Consider it as a navigator for the director to work on – the skeleton at an anatomy class.

Scene one
It’s the night of the 20th to the 21st of July 2001, in Genoa, Italy. The police breaks into the school Diaz, one of the accommodation places of Genoa Social Forum, were people are mostly sleeping at that moment; when the police breaks into the first floor people, who have been alarmed by the attack on the ground floor, the heatings and the screaming, are lying on the floor, on their knees, with their hands behind their head, saying 'no violence'; the police uses force; they batter people so badly that one of the officers has to intervene to stop the massacre.
Scene 2
Shot of the school building beside the windows of the building across the street. The police brings about 30 ambulances for the injured people, in front of the school building. They begin carrying people out on stretchers. One, Two, a dozen or more. We shall also see them bringing at least one body bag outside, maybe two, but we cannot know whether there is a corpse inside. The police brigns out the walking wounded, arrests them and takes them away.
Scene 3
A crowd is gathered on the street, shouting "Assessini! Assesini!". The crowd is challenging the cops and the cops are challenging the crowd. Suddenly, a huge circle of media is gathered, bright camera lights.
Scene 4
People on the street are getting arrested and bitten up indiscriminately.
Scene 5
The police breaks violently into the Genoa Social Forum and Indymedia building, across the Diaz school. We had just finished our meeting and were talking, making phone calls, when we heard shouts and sirens and the roar of people yelling, objects breaking. The cops had come and they were raiding the center. We couldn't get out of the building because there were two many people at the entrance. Lisa grabbed my hand and we went up, running up the five flights of stairs, up to the very top. Jeffrey joined us, people were scattering and looking for places to hide. We weren't panicking but my heart was pounding and I could hardly catch my breathe. We found an empty room, a couple of tables, grabbed some sleeping bags to cover our heads if we got beaten. And waited.
Scene 6
Helicopters are buzzing over the building, the police corps gallops up the stairs
Scene 7
Someone – a policeman walks in an empty classroom, walks around and leaves. The light goes on.
Scene 8
The camera sees through a crack between the tables - a helmet, a face. A big Italian cop with a huge paunch loomed over three people hidden behind a couple of tables covered with some sleeping bags. He shouts at them to come out.
Scene 9
He takes them down to the third floor, where a whole lot of people are sitting, lined up against the walls.
Scene 10
Someone comes in. People are still lined up waiting.

Lawyers arrive; The police leaves
Scene 12
Flash shot from the murder of Carlo Juliani, on the 21st July 2001 – the next morning (shot by a policeman in the face at point-blank range from the back of a police Land Rover, and then driven over twice)

To honor our dead, not a minute of silence. A whole life of struggle.

But what for? It just reads like a transcript of some of the footage we saw in the german news at the time. Should it be documentary (then you should use only authentic footage) or should it be fictional (then there is the question "why?" because it still doesn't explain itself or make a point). The feelings you describe in the "i" person can hardly be transported that clearly into a movie without voiceover as a narrative, and I think that would weaken the concept as it seems to live fromt the gritty tv-like images in the sequences of action. Do I make any sense? I am not so good at words but I think I am pretty good at movie stuff, so if you would pursue this further I would really like to hear about it and see the finished movie (or in progress) because I think there cannot be enough politically aware movies from the independent scene.
Keep going + reduce the noise :-)
