Laura kurgan
http://www.princeton.edu/~kurgan/index.htm
Laura Kurgan, principal of Laura Kurgan Architecture in New York City, explores the interface between building, electronic media, and information technology in both her art and her architecture. She recently completed the new offices for WITNESS, a human rights organization that distributes video technology and training to local activists. Past projects include Around Ground Zero, a fold-out map of the area around the site of the World Trade Center, widely and freely distributed in the months after September 2001. Over the last decade she has worked with new spatial information and mapping technologies, especially declassified satellite imagery and GPS technology. This work, which has been exhibited internationally, is collected in You Are Here: Post-Military Technology and the New Landscape of Satellite Images. Kurgan is currently Director of Visual Studies and Director of the Spatial Information Design Lab at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
Thomas leeser

Leeser Architecture
Founded in 1989 by Thomas Leeser, Leeser Architecture is known internationally for design innovation and their integration of new technologies into physical spaces. The firm's work encompasses architectural design at all scales--from urban planning to furniture design. Leeser Architecture's designs emerge from cultural, social, and technological patterns present in the site or situation they are engaging. Their projects frequently use technology to reframe our understanding of architectural conventions and production. By shaping and then harnessing our awareness of these forces they create complex and richly varied spatial experiences.Leeser Architecture maintains an "open office" which engages in collaborations across conventional disciplines. Working closely with other architects, artists, graphic and landscape designers, and engineers has allowed the office to remain streamlined and focused while also taking on large-scale projects.

Spatial Narratives
"There is no mute architecture. All architects, all buildings "tell stories" with varying degrees of consciousness. Architecture is permeated with narratives because it is constituted within a field of discourses and economies (formal, psychological, and ideological), to any one aspect of which it cannot be reduced, from any one of which it cannot be removed.
